  1. Review: Fight Club

I know that everyone has probably seen Fight Club by now and if you haven’t, go an watch it now. I understand why it is one of the most highly regarded films and I really like everything about it.

I’m assuming that you’ve seen the film so I’m not going to care about spoilers in this particular review.

Brad Pitt does a brilliant performance as the imaginary friend/other half of Tyler Durdan. His performance is great and he does everything really well. I can easily believe Brad Pitt as orchestrating his own underground army from fighting clubs. Of course, it’s not Brad Pitt that’s Tyler Durdan, it’s Edward Norton. That’s the good thing about Fight Club, it’s one of those films that you can watch over and over again and spot more and more. This was my third time watching the film, so I know pretty much everything that happens, but it’s really interesting to watch the film knowing that Brad Pitt doesn’t actually exist and it’s just Edward Norton the entire time.

The story is complicated and very intriguing. Showing all the different problems with society and how when people band together, the power that they can have. There are so many different ideas being thrown around that it’s hard to try to list them all, especially with the dull headache that I have at the moment.

Fight Club is another film that I have absolutely no problems with. I like everything about it, from the casting to the plot to the execution of all the scenes. It truly does deserve all the praise that it gets. I have never read the book but I am tempted to read it as I’m sure there is plenty that got left out of the film, which is always the case.

I would say that I recommend the film, but I think that can be taken from the above review, and I did tell people who haven’t seen the film not to read the review… Oh well, watch it again.

    Fight Club 5/5
